CRP Forum at the JECCS conference
Submitted by klisiecka on Thu, 09/04/2008 - 12:00.CRP Forum Jerusalem 2008 – Background and Call for Participation
Please join the latest CRP Forum on 19 September while you are in Jerusalem! The CRP Forum is an initiative of the GIACS coordination action. The Forum was already running during the conferences at Oxford (2006) and Dresden (2007), and we wish to continue this new instrument of dissemination in the future. We think research organisation especially in the area of complex systems has changed in recent years, and the nature of research viewed from a projects perspective is especially useful. Our definition of a project is quite broad, for example we also encourage contributions from specific research institutions with well-defined research aims in complex systems.

Improved security
Submitted by Admin on Thu, 06/05/2008 - 16:17.I have added a module to improve the security of our site and to stop spambots from posting ads in comments. Up till now I have done it manualy which was taking much time and once in a while I have been mistaking submissions from real people with those of bots. Now I hop it will end. If you want to post a comment any where on the site, you will be asked to input two words visible on an distorted image the same will be during registration. I hope i will work, because only in last year I have manualy blocked about 4000 spambots trying to register...
By the way, I strongly recomend posting comments on the website :)

Welcome to the new version of Giacs.org
Submitted by Admin on Wed, 06/04/2008 - 10:57.After some time of preparations we have finally changed the look of our page! We hope it will be more attractive and easy to use now. The main changes have been made to the graphic layout of the page, but we have modified the structure a bit as well. Please try out the new site and give us some feedback if you find anything confusing or unclear (contacts@giacs.org).
For now not all of the sections have been moved from the old version of the website. There are no past events and Complexity Roadmap yet but they will reappear in the following days.
We have simplified the user profile. Now the only information you have to give us while applying for membership is a valid email address and username. The reason for doing this was the fact that the information You have been giving us while logging in (names, organizations, etc.) up till now, was never used anywhere and was only stored in the database. We have thus destroyed the unused data so it does not get lost or into the wrong hands. If you experience problems with logging in (your login is not recogized etc.) please make a new account - your profile has been lost while the server crushed last week.
We hope You enjoy the new giacs.org
