CRP Forum at the JECCS conference
CRP Forum Jerusalem 2008 – Background and Call for Participation
Please join the latest CRP Forum on 19 September while you are in Jerusalem! The CRP Forum is an initiative of the GIACS coordination action. The Forum was already running during the conferences at Oxford (2006) and Dresden (2007), and we wish to continue this new instrument of dissemination in the future. We think research organisation especially in the area of complex systems has changed in recent years, and the nature of research viewed from a projects perspective is especially useful. Our definition of a project is quite broad, for example we also encourage contributions from specific research institutions with well-defined research aims in complex systems.
The 3rd CRP Forum will be running during the Jerusalem conference, on 19th Sept. 2008, see the programme. We are inviting 30min presentations of project coordinators with an ongoing or just finished larger project in the area of complex systems. The presentation should focus on the science, but include an overview to the project organisation, i.e. contributions from different sub-projects etc.
We will publish the fora contributions after the conference in a refereed booklet. We think this is an excellent opportunity to assemble and present information on complexity projects.
We are also in contact with other initiatives to report about compexity projects and will encourage CRP participants to take part. More information will be given in e-mails, on this web page, and during the forum. The CRP forum is an additional event taking place during the Jerusalem Complexity conference. We are asking already registered particpants to apply for an additional contribution during the CRP forum. Please apply with a small abstract (max 1 page), starting with title, project name and name of presenting person. GIACS related projects are especially welcome (but we are not an exclusive GIACS event and open to any project presentation).
We have time for 7 talks at Jerusalem and will choose presentations among incoming applications on a first arrival - first go basis. You can also apply without giving a presentation to have your project description included in the booklet. Details about the booklet will be given during the CRP Forum.
Please send your application for oral contributions and/or participating in the complexity project booklet to
